Fayt Extra

Hello Blogger,

So, at the end of my Web class I created a 'HOW TO' website. It's not a legit, on-the-net, website but a website nonetheless. Guess what I did my 'HOW TO' on?

HOW TO TIE A TIE (A Double Windsor Story)

It's illustrated and designed as a sort of comic. Here's the images of the site:

Yes, I'm kind of messed up in the head. But, that's okay. You know why? It makes me smile. If you can't read it, here's what it says:

Image One:
Narrator: No tie, Good Sir?
Skelly: Nope...
Narrator: LOSER!

Image Two:
Narrator: That's okay, we'll get you one! (Please don't smile.)
Narrator: Here you go. What? Don't know how?

Image Three:
Narrator: First, we criss-cross.
Mr.Tie: Wee!
Narrator: Wee, indeed.
Narrator: Next, we come from behind.
Mr.Tie: Wee- wait, what?
Narrator: What, indeed. You will see soon, Mr.Tie., You will see soon.

Image Four:
Narrator: Then, swing under.
Mr.Tie: Hey man, I'm not feeling too good.
Narrator: Not good, indeed.
Narrator: Now, under again.
Mr.Tie: Seriously, it's starting to hurt.
Narrtator: Good.
Mr.Tie: Hold on! Stop! No more! NO MEANS NO!

Image Five:
Mr.Tie: Please, I have kids!
Narrator: After, we pull through. (Your kids don't have a father.)
Narrator: Finally, we tighten.
Mr.Tie: My insides burn.
Narrator: That's quite all right.

Image Six:
The End
Narrator: Don't forget to adjust.

It's a bit dark. Yes, it MAY offend some people. But hey, the 'feels' are just feels. Just like comedians doing stand-up. They'll offend. But it's funny.

I think it's funny anyway. Heh.

Other than, I decided to write out 'Aria of the Opera' in a book similar to my lyric book my brother Ester gave me two years ago for my birthday. Every chapter I'll be uploading it to Booksie so keep a close eye on that Epic Link Blog! post cause it will have all updates and links to other pages of mine and people who deserve looks.

And now, here's something new.

GAME REVIEW
With Fayt Hart

It was going to come out eventually. I mean I love video games.

I'll review and talk about games I've bought, from Iphone4 to PSP (don't judge me) and N3DS and well...anything I get to buy and play.

Recently, I've purchased a few games. Pokemon Black  for N3DS, Monster Hunter Freedom United for PSP, and Fate Extra for PSP.

First, let's talk about Pokeman Black. Yes, all these games came out a while ago. Shush. It's the prices I wait for, man. Them prices be killer.

Pokemon Black is a new look at Pokemon. It's 3D, more interactive, online play with people all over the world, and not just another Pokemon game push over. The game is actually quite enjoyable, and the online play with people anywhere without the whole, "Let's plug it, baby!" (All pun intended and yes that's a MUSE song). I've only just obtained the game not too long ago. And I'm at my 7th badge and still only 3 pokemans I wanna really keep and well...either missing some or using fillers. I'm just real picky.

Gameplay wise, it runs real well, and it's pretty damn smooth for the first 3d pokemon rpg game, not including the ones for the none-handheld systems.

Visual wise, it's pixelated, but what'd you expect from a sprite going 3d?It's not something you'd really mind, in my honest opinion. While figuring out everything and new pokemans and different story you'll quickly learn to forget about it. But the cut scenes at the beginning are pretty awesome.

Next we have Fayt Extra. Hehe. The game starts out UNGODLY slow. You play as this normal dude, who starts noticing weird stuff going down. And well...he's not even THAT important. (LAWL)
After 3 days (in game) you finally pick your servant (depending on difficulty) and create a character. Male/Female, you know that jazz. Gon' be good. You can also create their name, first and last and even nickname. Depending on the difficulty, it chooses the "servant" you get. Now, these "servants" are legendary souls that are summoned to aid their masters because humans are "weak" and "fragile." These Servant, in the end, fight for you. Easy we have miss Saber, normal we have...some Dante looking dude and hard we have the adorable wolf girl.

Gameplay, once you get passed the slow beginning, and the flood of text the game picks up pretty quickly. I couldn't let it go and get ready to drive to school. (Eventually I had to.) It's fun for the story. Battle system is something I've never seen before. It's a lot like Rock-Paper-Scissors to the death.

Attack beats Break
Break beats Guard
Guard beats Attack

Sound familiar? FIRE EMBLEM.

only difference is, if you don't know the enemy well enough you have to guess what they'd do. You enter in 6 commands and after confirming they'll go into battle. The winner of the throw down is decided by the actions.

If I put in Attack and the other person's first command was Break, then I attack it and it goes off to the second round. If I had break next and they had Guard I attack again obtaining a 2 chain. If I did an Attack and they did break, I'd attack them and end up with a 3 chain. Chaining 3 attacks together like that gets you to do a Free "EXTRA" damage. So, get those. If you can. However, it works both ways. If you fail to stop their chains before 3 you'll be hit with an EXTRA. It's difficult but it's fun to watch. Funny thing is your character just stands blankly while the servant fights the enemies. Hehehe.

Visual wise, it's made like an anime game. You know, Star Ocean, Rogue Galaxy, you know, games like those. It's for people who enjoy JRPGs, have a bit of patience and enjoy a TO THE DEATH RPS.

Last we have Monster Hunter FU.
Yes, FU. FREEDOM UNITED, duh.

I haven't gotten around to playing it much to be honest. I just created my character, figured out the controls and seen some of the gameplay. If you played MH on ps2 or Wii...this on PSP is a bit awkward. Can't tell you how many times I've used a whetstone to sharp when I meant to put away my weapon.

Gameplay, it's fun, takes a bit to memorize the controls and not as easy flowing as the MH's for ps2 or Wii but don't let that get you down. It plays well and is really, REALLY amazing. (Some bosses are harder than the ones on Wii...which I play on.)

Visual wise, it's a very good game visual wise. It's like Final Fantasy 7, Crisis Core graphics. Very nice, not as vivid but that's all right. It's like real life earth colors.

That's all I got for you today,
As always Thanks for Reading.

Time for Some Literature

Hello Blogger,

It's been some time since I was able to update you on some literature. This includes things that I've read and thoroughly enjoyed and things I've been doing, as far as literature goes, myself. So, first thing's first, the people.

The People

Not too long ago I found some extra time to myself and got onto Booksie. Now, if you don't remember what Booksie is, it's a site where authors of all genres and styles come together.

Facebook for literature nerds.

It promotes literature we post on there and has this little cool feature called Random Lines on the top right that gives you ONE line of a random story.

However, this site isn't exactly awesome sauce yet. There are some bugs that needs to be worked out for it to be somewhat awesome sauce, but hey, we all start somewhere.

Anywho, I read a few stories and found one I did enjoy. Not to say the others weren't any good, I'm just saying "I" didn't find it enjoyable. Meaning it's only my opinion and who cares about that, right?

This person wrote an interesting, War of the Worlds feel, type of story. I read the prelude with the time I had and some of the first chapter. It is very well written and details flow naturally. It is considered sci-fi and...well I thought it was a good read. The story is called...

Cantus commented on my profile page, asking me to read some of his/her work. Well, of course, happens all the time in Booksie. I figured, since I had the time, why not?

What drew my immediate attention was the title, which involves a little bit of backstory.
It involves Final Fantasy, and my nerdism for it. I love the FF series and well, Valhalla is mentioned in FF13-2 which I really want to get and play for the collection and to say "I played it" as a loyal fan. To be entirely honest, I had no idea what Valhalla was until the game mentions it. I know, I know. It's a thing, a real thing. Not a real real thing for some beliefs but it is a real thing...If you know what I mean. I'm just saying I found it out through Final Fantasy, and my nerdism for it led me to actually become interested in his story. Just from the title. Don't you judge me.

So, this story is pretty intense from the beginning. We're talking a normal day in the neighborhood and then BAM, life changing. It literally takes NO PRISONERS. And good. This is enjoyable to me. And my imagination.

Find it on Booksie, or Click on the Title above. That's right, it's a link. Who'da Thunk It? Also, click on the name Leo Cantus to see his other works.

Cantus will be appearing on the Epic Blog Link! with the other Features I have there. Please remember they are other people who deserve some recognition too. Either for their ingenuity or skill.

MYSELF

I do love that people are eagerly waiting for me to get chapters up on my stories, In Loving Memory: Aiden's Story, Death Petal and Sin7. And, don't worry, in eventuality I will. I do enjoy writing, and putting down thoughts that I think are pretty damn cool and exaggerating those events in my life into my stories.

However...

Those stories, I have decided will be on hold. Lately, I've noticed a certain "grasp" that's been keeping me from my full, crazily creative self. "It's" been blocking my flow and "it" needs to be broken down so the water can flow at it's full potential.

For too long it has kept me in place, and now I found a way to cope and finish it off. The final blows, and if I can finish this, entirely: edited, revised, (other words that pretty much mean I'm going to revise it one way or another) go over, and finalize it, I think I can move on with my life and let it go forever.

So, unfortunately, Sin7 and the others will be held onto until this is finished. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean you'll not see anything from me until it's finally finished. I'll be updating Booksie with it, and update my blogs here about it when I get it in. And with that said, I bring you...

Aria of the Opera

Sorry to all looking forward to the other stories' new chapters. It will be a while. But, please, please do enjoy this one. This will be a very important one for me.

Synopsis:

A shared love for a gothic novel, The Phantom of the Opera (originally by French writer Gaston Leroux), connects the lives of Salem Brise and Allison Masque. Singing the words together as their lives duet beautifully swiftly reveals a mask and rose. Who obtains the role of a life time?

Download Cat Draft

Hello Blogger,

Download cat has been sketched, brought in and colored but not yet finalized.
If you're following us on Facebook you've already seen what it looks like as of far. It still remains in the style of bold, simple color and cartoons. Few more elements to put in, it'll take some time with the web class website projects taking a lot of time to grasp. Heh...

I've done web before but can't blame me if I don't remember everything from my senior year in high school! I mean, geez, that was almost 4 years ago.

Anyway, if you're eager to see Download cat here are the sketch and colored images.

Sketch I decided on
What he looks like so far

What it's going to say is, "Buy Shirts, Get a Free Kitten."

For those of you who wish to wait for an actual free kitten...It ain't coming.

The joke is, you get the kitten that's on the shirt. Which is that baby Fayt there. So, yeah, no real kittens for you!

I was told it was Pokemon December. I had no idea what that is. Nor did I bother to look up. I had Ren tell me it was a month where people put their display pics up as pokemon they like. So...I did. On Facebook. I'm a Snivy!

I love Snivy's to be honest. If it wasn't for a certain girl's constant influence on "Pokemans" I wouldn't be playing it...again. Yes, that's correct I play it. I've skipped like a million seasons and generations and ended up with Snivy's generation because of her. I'll get her back. Get her into weed. (Joking. I don't even smoke.)

Anyway, that's all for now. Enjoy the holidays, I'll be gone for 2 - 3 weeks once on break so keep in touch with Skype, Facebook, and you know that jazz.

As always, thanks for reading.
Don't forget to friend, add, blah blah blah.

I'm Trying I Swear!

Hello Blogger,

I'm trying hard, I really am. I'm trying to balance work, volunteer, and school which I find to be...well...not easy. On my spare time I find myself drifting away watching Bond movies, and I love Bond! What I'm trying to accomplish is a piece for Download Cat that I accept.

(Yes, sometimes I don't accept my own work.)

Anyway, who's ready for Download Cat and the other pieces that's literally going One progression point at a time!?

Well, I would be if I had a good idea that fits the image. I mean I have a basic idea and sketches but literally I wrote comments like...

"Close..."
"Closer..."
"WHAT THE F-"

Yeah. I've like 3 pages of ideas and some close and some far. I wanted Fayt to be a Scottish Fold kitten with the ears super folded. That's- yeah... Getting there though!

Other than I'm working on a travel site for class. That's somewhat a pain. I don't want it to be bland and like everyone else's so I came up with using animated .gifs and rollovers.

Gon' be good.
(kind of.)

But other than, yes I still do love Ludo. Awesome band. Yes. That. Okay. That's all for now.

As always thanks for Reading.

Ghost of Myself

Hello Blogger,

Ester's working on the Halloween Play pieces so whenever he...you know...finishes that it'll be edited and uploaded. Forget Me Not is on its thumbnail stages with the other characters. So, soon...ish.

A new piece is coming called Download. We've all seen the download box when we download stuff (Or some of us have seen). Well, Fayt Kitten will be in the box for all your downloads! With the words,"Get a Free Kitten."

I mean come on, free kitten. Fayt will be portrayed as a younger self. As of right now, I'm hoping to make the ears a fold, like a scottish fold. But I'm having a bit of difficulties with it, hehe. If anything he'll still be younger and the only thing that may be changed is his ears. If I do change his over all appearance then he'll be a bit different. You would still be able to tell who it is.

Kittens are just adorable. If you're wondering which in that liter is Fayt well...
He's there.
He's not there.

Class wise, I'm now in Web (kinda). We're working HTML, CSS and etc. A lot to remember but it's okay. I'll be fine. Probably not, but I'll still see how far it takes me.

Anywho, I got my car back finally. It's been in the shop for a week and a day. What the crap Pepboys?!
And now the check engine light is on AGAIN. Double Crap Man!

Get ready for the new pieces coming...whenever they come.

As always thanks for reading.

Supuh Busy!

Hello Blogger,

Well, geez. How long has it been since the last post? (Don't actually answer that.)

I've been real busy with school and work. I go to class from 8am to 1pm and then to work from 2pm to 9pm.

"Ain't no rest for the wicked," Cage the Elephant.

So, what have I been doing in class?

MINIZINE!

Yay. It's not all that bad. I created advertisements for Clumsy Cat (available for download on Itunes) and Shocker Toys.

If you don't know, Clumsy Cat is a game where you play as a cat (duh) and you wreck the _____ out of the house while your owners are out. You can also (eventually) play as other pets. I'd get it if I had something to play it on. (heh)

And Shocker Toys are well...toys. They make these super customizable toys called Mallows, and I've seen some real awesome ones. Like...Dr.Rockso the Rock n' Roll Crack Clown from Metalocalypse (spell check on that?)

Cool stuff. They came out all right. I'm also doing a (make-believe) article on Ivan Solyaev. Probably my newest favourite artist. His artwork is amazingly horrific. And in the greatest way ever!

With all compliments to Ivan and his work, here is one of his paintings:

Artwork by Ivan Solyaev

I am IN LOVE with that piece. It's just so...mysterious. A friend of mine found it as I was researching an Indie Game to do an ad on for the magazine...er minizine.

Yes.
That.

I haven't been able to come up with any designs for my own stuff but it'll come. A friend at work is going to commission me for his avatar and he might give my name to a friend of his that does tattoos. Sounds like a good deal, no?

That's all for now.

Cheers.

As always, thanks for reading.

What I've Been Doing...

Hello Blogger,

So, as the title to this blog post says, I will be sharing with you what I've been doing the last month or so that production has been a bit slow. Here goes!

First, my job search finally ended. Walmart gave me a call and now I work in the bakery section. Woot. 8 Hours. Woot. 5 days a week. Woo..?

Next, since that I have to balance Watson Clinic and Walmart so my hours of free design run short. I've been busy doing the projects in class and my motivation and creativity with PLAY at the moment is a bit thinning.  But I will upload the projects I have been doing below.

Then, I've been being used as a model for multiple people's projects so we needed to do a bunch of photoshoots. Was fun. Gon' be good.

Last, my energy is finally wearing thin. Gettin' tired a lot easily but I'll be okay.

Here's my projects! Enjoy!

Look Up While Looking Up

Hello Blogger,

Things are about to get a bit more busy than ever before. Don't get me wrong, PLAY characters will definitely be done, but before Halloween I'm not too confident of. They will be done though. And of course, you'll always be updated on the edits, progression and other news.

So to update the Halloween Evil PLAY, here's what we have so far...
Evil Fayt (Left) Evil Ester (Right)

The Panda is giving me a bit of issues with he eyebrow wrinkles and defining the teeth. But I will fix them and have them ready and up on the shop soon.

OTHER NEWS

I had an interview a few days ago. I was called in from Walmart, to which I've been applying to for over a year and a half or so since moving here to Florida. Excited, I readied myself for the interview thinking it was going to be extremely tough and awkward-silence-ness. I waited where I was supposed to and to my surprise I see a familiar face. Mr. Scott, whom I've been bothering about a position in the past, came up and interviewed me the first day. He asked me to come back for my second interview.

That's where we had a bit of a dilemma. They couldn't find my name nor the job post about it. So Mr. Scott came in and cleared things up. Luckily he was there for it. I finished the drug test and waiting for a call from Walmart to go to orientation and eventually training. I'm in the bakery section. Mmmm...Food.

I also bought Pretzel M&Ms. Mmm...Pretzel M&Ms.

I still plan on doing the volunteer work at Watson Clinic. I've become somewhat close to the employees there and I enjoy my time there. Gets me out of the house.

My brother, whom you all know as Ester, is working on Decease. Last night he decided he wanted to use a different image for the dead man. And the 'Dead Man' model was my friend Mark Gines from my class.

The statistics on the FaceBook Like Page is going well, but lately we've been dropping. If you haven't already, please go and 'Like' our page and show your support to our cause.

I've had a meeting with Ester on Skype to talk about our direction in our designs. As you know Hart Designs has both twisted and cute qualities. But what are we trying to say to the audience?

Well, being the founder of Hart Designs (The cute/twisted clothing design one, not the other ones you might find on FaceBook), I took the time to go more in depth to it.

What does Hart Designs want to do with their images?

I want us to hit the audience fast and hard with our graphics. Something people would look at and say "How cute!" or "How cool!" or even "How Sick!" and not even notice the message without thinking. I want to give the ability to think and take risks back to the human race with my images. I want to say that Art is Powerful and it shouldn't be taken away as we grow older. We see art everywhere, it's our defining qualities in our cultures.

I want to say "Art is Power" to my audience. But the messages will be different but that will be the general thought.

For example, PLAY. It's cute but ever thought what does it really mean? PLAY is a piece that represents bonds with people. Bonds we share with friends, close friends, best friends, and family. Take, for instance, the characters Fayt and Ester. You all, who've been following me for some time, know that he and I are brothers but we're not from the same family. Hence why we're not the same breed of animal in the piece. You see Fayt poking Ester, and it causes Ester's eye to fall out from the seams. All of that has significant meaning in the piece. The instrument used to poke Ester's eye, the stick, is the symbolism for our comments, words and actions we take that may harm our friends or family. But the nonchalant reaction of Ester signifies that as people with close and strong enough bonds none of that silliness can bother us. The piece all together is a introduction to our Designs, and together PLAY means that no matter how much harm is inflicted to each other our bonds will always remain strong.

And all that is said vaguely with an image that's only going to be depicted as cute at first glance. Eventually, I want people to become curious of what our message is and search us up. Find my blog, or deviant art or even our Hart Designs Like page and find our what it all means.

Art is indeed powerful. Don't waste it.

That's all I have for you today!

Like always, thanks for reading.
